With over 400 engines supplied worldwide per year, and twenty two years of trading, RPi's engine programs are second to none. Our acclaimed rebuilt engine variants are individually detailed and hand built by 'Holly', our resident V8 Chef! Each-one seasoned to your exacting tastes.

To be honest, we do prefer to supply factory warranted 'brand new', both std. and enhanced performance, 4 litre & 4.6 litre engines. However, we can, when required, continue to offer earlier capacity rebuilt V8 engine variants. The following information should help to guide you well whatever your needs.

Stage 1 and stage 3 engine enhancements & upgrades

Bespoke Stage '1' & Stage '3' V8 engine enhancements.
Available for all complete rebuilt engines, long engines and turnkey.

Stage 1 upgrade, 'Maximizing torque & efficiency' Add £600.00 to include
Torquemax or RP4 Cam, and Stage 1 heads Offering enhanced engine efficiency &
economy. Outstanding torque gains, where you need them. This is what RPi Stage 1
is all about. You can easily expect 10-15% (across the board) gains showing up with
enhanced bhp, but it's not the bhp that you will notice most when you install this motor!!

Stage 3 upgrade. As stage 1 drive-ability, torque & efficiency still paramount but more porting, more bhp, more Torque and still no losses. Add £1100.00 to include
RP285 Cam (or other appropriate Cam), Duplex, Vernier timing gear
(only for Pre 1995 engines) and HI flow big valve Stage 3 heads. You are assured of clean emissions, and you get all that stage 1 offers but even more torque, more bhp and the ability to take the effective rpm range far higher for those 'Boy Racer' moments.

Complete engine £4,895.00 excluding ECUs & Air Mass meter, available for both Gems & Hotwire injection types. Our unique Stage 1 and Stage 3 enhancements & Options, are always recommended & available with all our full or long engines, including turnkey engines. (Stage 1 and 3 Details).		Our 4.0/4.6 Turn-key Engine
New 4.0 & 4.6, fully assembled 'turn-key' engine, Turnkey engines as shown come 100% complete & ready to run. Starter, wiring, alternator, Serpentine endless pulley belt system, fuel injection, clutch, flywheel, rocker covers, breathers, fillers, timing cover etc. etc. (As all engines are available for many car types spanning near 50 years, and with our extensive experience covering the most expansive portfolio of V8 engine requirements and variety of situations, we are commited to not only consider what you have requested, but to analyse your needs and suggest the best and most appropriate options for your engine requiments).		Our 4.0/4.6 Turn-key Engine

Our 4.0/4.6 long engine (also called stripped engine).		Brand New 4.0 & 4.6 V8 2003 built, cross-bolted long engines include block, crank, rods, pistons, rings, timing gear & camshaft, heads and rocker assembles (fully assembled) 4.0 litre only £2,950.00 and 4.6 litre £3,250.00 All are hand built and balanced, including dynamic balancing.
		All long engines are based around Rover's latest cross-bolted 4.0 & 4.6 casting, factory fresh and employing the latest, stronger, block casting, bigger journal crankshaft, fully enclosed main bearing caps, stronger rods and rod stud fixings, and are fully compatible for replacing 3.5, 3.9 & 4.2 V8s, as well as the newer Range Rover, Morgan, TVR and kit car engines of the same capacity.

Brand New 4.0 & 4.6 V8 2003 built, cross-bolted short engines include block, crank, rods, pistons, rings, timing gear & camshaft (fully assembled). 4.0 litre only £1,950.00 and 4.6 litre £2,250.00 All are hand built and balanced, including dynamic balancing.
All new short engines are the latest 4.0 & 4.6 cross bolted block with stronger castings, bigger journal crankshaft, fully enclosed main bearing caps, stronger rods and rod stud fixings, and are fully compatible for replacing 3.5, 3.9 & 4.2 V8s, as well as the newer Range Rover, Morgan, TVR and kit car engines of the same capacity.

Heads surcharge £100.00 per pair.
Short engine surcharge £100.00 only.
Long engine surcharge £200.00 only.

The following pictures demonstrate the attention to detail that is afforded all our engines, indeed, the build quality is constantly checked by hot-bed running 1 in 5 of our all-new turnkey engines.


All our brand new engines are unique & individually hand-built in the most efficient work-space and quality-controlled environment possible.	As with the pistons, all connecting rods are weight determined, corrected, checked, balanced and 'as shown', representing the only true way to build quality-assured engines with 100% reliability.	Pistons are balanced to within one Gram and are fitted as matching sets to balanced rods, the resultant data is then used to enable spot on dynamic balancing.

All connecting-rods are individually 'end over end' balanced, and with the resultant calculations used to determine precise crankshaft counter balance factors for the final stage 'dynamic balancing'		The final 'cutting edge' stage prior to assembly. Once the pistons and connecting rods are balanced, the crank is dynamically balanced with the appropriate counter balance weights applied.
